Golf

Golf is a relatively easy sport yet it can sometimes be difficult to play for some. In principle the game is about striking a small ball using a customized stick with a heavy end some distance and eventually into a small hole. This exercise is then repeated 17 more times over holes of different lengths and degree of difficulty.

Make no mistake - golfers (at any level) are athletes and the golf swing does require a great deal of athleticism.

Strength, power, flexibility, balance, core stability, body awareness, even endurance... they're all physical traits that every consistent golfer (even the fair-weather players) must possess.

When training someone for golf I focus on explosive strength through the core muscles.  Working the obliques and hips keeps wear and tear off of the rotator cuff and knees.  After just six weeks my golfer’s average 10-15 yards more on their drives.
